Hi been passed this info below:
-Employment freeze within the council - less permanent jobs offered to staff, pay freeze for 2 years, temp agency staff no longer having contracts renewed
-new ways of working - upcoming closures of offices, staff expected to work from home or hotdesk. Offices like Somerfield House now in operation, where morale is low because staff are working in a call centre environment
-Residential Futures - the closure of Social Services Elderly Peoples Homes (EPH) forcing elderly and vunerable people to relocate to a different home sometimes situated within poor geographical proximity to their friends and families. General upset and upheaval of moving.
-EPH closures impacting on bed blocking in hospital as staff have to set up huge packages of care at home or respite before discharge.
- Standards in Nusing Homes could drop as owners come to terms with public sector spending cuts
-Team Recovery Plans- locality teams now expected to cut services by offering (not always) suitable alternatives, assessments feel like they are no longer person centre but budget led.
-Personalization Agenda - which is now in place of Fair Access to Care Services, relatively new to Bristol City Council, Health and Social Care but feedback from other local authorities has been that service users' personal budgets and choice and control over their support (care) plans have been impacted on because of budget cuts
