We have already collected hundreds of signatures at stalls around the city and we can now offer an on-line alternative too!
The petition reads…
Petition: Save Council Residential Homes and Day Centres
We the undersigned strongly oppose the proposed closures of Bristol City Council residential Elderly People’s Homes and Day Centres.
Background information:
Bristol City Council has made proposals to close its residential care homes, dementia homes and day centres for the elderly. We believe this savage attack on Health and Social Care provision to be deeply unfair to service users, their families, friends and care home staff. It is an unjustified attack on public provision for people of Bristol of all ages, and for generations to come.
The proposed closures are motivated solely by cuts, yet will in fact end up costing the Council more. They would result in poorer quality care for elderly and vulnerable people, poorer working conditions for staff and create chaos and distress for a great many people.
NO to vicious cuts to care.
