We Are Bristol Press Statement: Friday July 13th
Today’s Bristol Evening Post includes information from police statements about a change of venue for tomorrow’s (July 14th) counter demonstration against the EDL, moving the timing and location of the counter demonstration to Castle Park.
We Are Bristol wish to make clear that the police have imposed conditions on our demonstration backed by legal orders. This has placed the organisers of the counter demonstration under extreme duress, no agreement was reached with the police, and legal advice has been sought to defend our right to protest.
We Are Bristol trade union appointed stewards will be at the Fountains at 11 am as planned, where supporters of the counter demonstration will be given directions to safely proceed to Castle Park for a final rally.
We would like to thank all trade unions, community groups and individuals who are supporting the counter demonstration and welcome you on July 14th in our campaign against the racism and bigotry of the EDL.

The official we are bristol position is still meet at 11am for a demonstration at the fountains.
We are bristol have not called for people to go to castle park, or follow the march the police are organising. Stay at the centre, we have a right to have our voices heard!
